Small album of rhymes and eighth Maremma (2007-2009)

lived Maremma. I would die happy.
(Leopold II of Lorraine, Grand Duke of Tuscany)

Maremma, or Maremma, Immita beauty born of the Fever and Sun, or day realms of Dis, you dream of my soul!
(Gabriele D'Annunzio, Alcione Ditirambo I)

the marshes are still the most beautiful and cleanest in the world.
(Luciano Bianciardi)

A RACE IN ... RAMA
A ride in rhyme Rama on the shuttle,
in Paradise: What kind of magic, the sights!
stop Alberese shade, a bench:
8.00, under the blue sky of a beautiful morning!
Party time in the bus, heading for the Marina,
to my left, the mountains here dell'Uccellina.
The road runs between sunflowers and olive trees, to the mouth
Ombrone
then enters the Far West:
Spergolaia, however, is his name!
First cows and bulls in the wild,
many other horses.
looks like a ranch in Colorado! Two
Cinghialino rummage in the fields,
a rabbit jumps out of the ditch.
gets up the bar. The sunset tonight,
dye the sky red!
Corre, now the coach of Rama, like a missile launched
orange, green pine forest
in the tunnel, but
cicadas make more noise,
covering the roar of the engine.
The road is long and narrow
and it looks like it would never end more:
but in the end, here's the output:
a big round eye and blue. At the home of
pinottolai
three deer cross the channel:
crossing the eyes of a fox in the woods
which then disappears.
em'incammino
off the bus on the beach for more than a mile,
between the Elbe and the Argentario
front is the island of Giglio.
Among the sand dunes, scrub and trees,
between sea and sky, sun, wind and mountains,
towers are still there
sentry in front of the great sea, the Maremma
but now it is bitter sweet and beautiful,
no more pirates, or marshes or malaria
the Maremma land of love.
Bianciardi wrote, perhaps repented,
but the jury is still good:
the most beautiful place in the world and cleaner
the marshes are!
There is a race of Rama
that leads to Paradise:
Nature here has his kingdom
and beauty shows her face. As
resist, dear Maremma,
increasingly rare and precious gem,
onslaught of caimans,
tourism and cement?
the Rama and the park, I'd
tomorrow, just for this, a monument!

ALBERESE
Alberese
is a fraction of the town of Grosseto,
little more than a thousand people,
between fields, vineyards, olive groves and some
. Among
Rispescia and Talamone
a small country and serene:
beyond the Amiata with its summit, both sides
dell'Uccellina the mountains.
near the mouth Ombrone
it looks friendly and happy,
Park headquarters of the region, ahead
hills and the sea behind.
Della Maremma, high named,
reign of cowboy and the colt, with its towers and
San Raban,
Villa Farm, the stores of grain.
Deer, foxes, birds and wild pigs, horses and cows
in the wild,
in Italy has certainly not equal, it seems

the Far West of Colorado.
climate and environment are ideal,
the sun shines and it rains often.
And sunsets from the marina: Corsica
also seems close!
But much work, how hard,
Maremma dog, Maremma
bitter
to make sweet, hospitable and friendly
the swamp, once, malaria and accidents.
The wind tells its ancient history, sweet
Maremma, Maremma dear.
Kissed by the sun, in the moonlight,
that its stars will bring a lot of luck!

SKY MAREMMA
The sky of Maremma is

as the palette of painters:
inside, there are

all the colors of the world.
The red sunsets,
pinks, yellows, oranges
;
there
and the blue sea, land,
all brown. There

the green olive trees and vineyards,
the scent of the fields,
stain and pine cones. There

white clouds, gray and black,
In the sky of Maremma
reflects the whole world!

SUNSETS
grove I saw the sun die
between rows of olive trees, and
the light dusk,
ignite a thousand pine logs.
the hills, fields, orchards and gardens:
in the Park of the Maremma, which spell the summer sunsets!

AUGUST A Grosseto Grosseto
I love summer,
in August, in the sunny hours.
deserted, empty streets,
from the hustle and bustle abandoned. The walls

red-hot from the sun, far from

crowded beaches, I love those

my walks,
silence,
shaded squares,
the wind blows,
suddenly in gusts.

HISTORY OF AMBER AND OMBRONE
This is the story of Amber and

Ombrone.

This legend is a story of love.
A sad story, a love

not reciprocated,
Ombrone liked Amber, but she

refused
by magic, into a river
,
was changed.
Ambra on an island, the island of dreams
prohibited
Ombrone
it caresses the hips turned
.
cries his love,
you can hear the cry, cries when

the sky or the wind blows
.
weep not needed,
if for no reason, but

Amber cries for the poor
Ombrone.
Do not cry for nothing if you
cries from the heart.
Blessed is he who mourns his lost love!

PREFER THAT NOISE
prefer this
noise of the sea ...
on the skin, this fragrance
of salt. I prefer this

marine breeze, the sun shines

on this shore.

prefer the song of cicadas,
the sun goes down,
the moon rising.
prefer the sound of this silence
,
this starry sky, these reeds in the wind

LOG MARINE ALBERESE
trunks bleached by the sun, washed out to sea
trunks, trunks

taste of salt, like poles planted
on the heart.
logs cut off by the wind,
differing forms smooth by time,
contorted, twisted, distorted and elongated, like spears from the sky

thrown.
Artwork
the nature, sculptured by

case in future memory, skeletons of trees

lifeless,
as cuttlebone,
hands without fingers

the Maremma Park
From Principina to Talamone
25 km of the coast of Maremma, the marshes at the mouth
Ombrone
the pine forest of the Grand Duke of Tuscany,
fields and pastures, a green lung,
in the heart of the province of Grosseto.
The Regional Park of Maremma:
Paradise Found, a precious gem.
A chain of rugged hills and wild
follows, with its towers, to the sea:
cliffs and long sandy beach,
Argentario, Giglio, Elba see tick.
A shuttle bus travels forward and backward
,
then from Pratini, you must walk
. In the green heart of the Monti

del'Uccellina
San Raban, the white Benedictine abbey.
foals, horses and cattle in the wild,
between farms, scattered houses and farms.
No, not the Far West, nor the
Texas or Colorado!
No, not herds of buffalo, wild boar are!
Foxes and herds of deer running in the meadow,
thousand birds in the sky, the pink flamingos from the wings. Among
sunflowers, vineyards and olive trees, there is a village at the foot of the Villa
Granducale: You Alberese.

A MEMO Vagaggini
The Maremma is colored, in the paintings of
Memo Vagaggini,
of bright light and crisp, almost sound. And the landscapes sing

Maremma and amiatini
the soul of the painter of Santa Fiora,
simplicity and silence, he related.
The painting is nourished in him a light
magical realism that restless, the deceiver.
poet of color, design talent,
precise, geometric, clear and smooth,
in his paintings there is poetry and feeling.
time contracted and frozen.
Sharpness shiny produces loss,
space is bright and dilated. How
painted enamel on porcelain,
sovereign dominates the light of the Maremma.
this year I was in Santa Fiora,
in August in its Peschiera.
The beautiful family home is now surrounded by a large group
.
time everything changes and everything fades,
but that light is still as it was.
dazzling light, smooth and pure as
soul, as in his painting.

Alberese - Santa Fiora, September 2007

COLLELUNGO NIGHT
Sunny day, night
starry sky of Maremma
,
thou hast bewitched.
Collelungo at night,
under billions of stars,
the darkness swallows me,
chills on the skin. With an eye

bewitched,
infinite universe, the Milky Way
,
I'm lost.
Over time you learn,
eyes stealing,
with burning patience,
the moon looking for.
We were born from the mud, but
wakes
dreaming
our consciousness,
watching the stars. July 30, 2008

Maremma landscape

In neat rows, as soldiers, defending
the olive trees the hills.
around vineyards and farmland,
caressed by sea breezes.
Sunflowers, scorched by the sun, are bent.
August, now, is coming to an end. Back
silence in the countryside nearby.
arrives in September, with its scent of wine

THE SKY MAREMMA

The changing color!
Like when it's raining outside,

Blue, white, gray, black,

GROSSETO 02/03/2009 - As part of the school project and volunteering in Tuscany 2008-2009, sponsored by the National Centre for volunteering, in collaboration with the regional school and office Cesvot, the class IA and III to address social services attended the meeting with the president of the Province of Grosseto UIC (Union of Italian blind and visually impaired), held a few days ago in the laboratory of social services via Brigades. Accompanied by two young men in service at the association, located in Viale F. Ferrucci, 5, and the presence of teachers and Aldo Scotto Emilia Maiorano, Mrs. Luciana Pericci explained to children the main purpose of the UIC, which was founded in 1920 in order to represent and uphold the moral and material interests of the blind: the full implementation of human rights, civil and social rights of their blind equality and social and civil integration. Numerous activities sponsored by the association: cultural accessibility and land through the removal of architectural barriers and sensory, voice recording and text books, support of school and provision of tools and aids tiflotecnici (talking watches, and punches for tablets Braille, dattilobraille, voice synthesizers and braille printers for bar computers), support and home care for the elderly blind and their families, escort service members, counseling of various types. But what's really involved, and raised listening, empathy and attention by students have been great communication skills and relationships, humor and irony and the office of the deep humanity of Luciana Pericci. Even through the telling of his personal experiences of living and some autobiographical episode, sometimes dramatic and painful, funny and entertaining, and with the help of some support for teaching or simple objects, such as her cell phone talking, Luciana Pericci succeeded in the difficult enterprise of carrying in his world, only seems dark and without color, boys and girls present.

Perrault's Bluebeard interpreted to protect women. New Events

01/15/2009 11:46
On 25 November, the celebration of World Youth Day declared by 'UN on violence against women, was held - at the Teatro degli Industri di Grosseto - the' waiting Entertainment Conference Schools recognized for Sai Bluebeard 's Academy Changes Amiata, and Sara's, and Giorgio Donzelli Zorcù. The lesson, masterfully arranged in the form of entertainment and explicitly dedicated to teenagers, in order to propagate the issues and questions related to the relationship between love and violence, was an exciting opportunity for reflection on 'alarming phenomenon of gender violence (murder, rapes, beatings, coercion of freedom in the areas familiar to the manifestations of contempt for the female body) in troubling shooting even in advanced countries of the democratic West. A recent research, in fact, claims that male aggressiveness is the leading cause of violent death and permanent disability for women between 16 and 44 years all over the world and that such violence is consumed primarily in the home. Through the story Perrault's fairy tale of Bluebeard and the story of Gilles De Rais, the show has managed to emotionally involve the audience, putting the finger on the serious consequences of distorted emotional relationships and the risks of a violent result of 'love or Malamore - as the title of a recent book by Conchita De Gregorio, neodirettrice de L'Unità - when it is confused with a report sick, full of obsessive jealousy and possessiveness.
At the end of the lesson-show was done, then attended an interesting debate, which was attended by Cinzia Tacconi, Head of Culture and the Equal Opportunities of the Province of Grosseto, Massimo Borghi, President of the Provincial Council, Gabriella Lepri Center Anti-Violence Olympe de Gouges, James and Sandra Mambriani Bellassai of the National masculine plural, and some students of the Provincial Council of Students and School Socio-Psycho-Pedagogical Grosseto, who spoke of their experience in training on Campus Life skills and peer education workshops and theatrical animation. 31 When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all his angels, he will sit on the throne of his glory. 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations, and he shall separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, 33 and shall set the sheep on his right and goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 naked and you clothed me, ill and you visited me in prison and you came to me. 37 Then the righteous will answer, 'Lord, when did we saw you hungry and we fed you, or thirsty and gave thee drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and you welcome, lacking clothes and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit thee? 40 In response, the King say unto them, Verily I say unto you: every time you did it to one of these my brethren, ye have did it to me. 41 Then he will say to those on his left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink: 43 I was a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, sick and in prison and you visited me. 44 Then they also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then he will answer: In truth I tell you every time you did it to one of these my brethren, ye did it to me. 46 And they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. When Will There Be A Body Change On The Gmc Yukon

The story of Catherine A copywriter

" On a beautiful sunny day of spring, a blind man was sitting on the steps of a building with a hat at his feet and a sign bearing the inscription: "I am blind, please help me." A publicist who was walking nearby, stopped and noticed that he was only a few pennies in his hat. He bent over and poured more coins, then, without asking the man, took the sign, turned it and wrote another sentence. That same afternoon, the ad came from the blind and noticed that his hat was full of coins and banknotes. The blind man recognized his step: he asked if it was not was he who had rewritten his sign and what he wrote. The advertisement said "No it was not true - I just rewrote your in a different way," smiled and walked away. The blind person never knew what time it was written on his sign: "Today is spring ... and I can not see."

I Uccellina and marshes of Alberese pages Eugenio Niccolini

Maremma, immortalized among others, Carducci, Gabriele D'Annunzio, Renato Fucini, Guido Piovene, Carlo Cassola, Luciano and Bianciardi Eugenio Cecconi, Giovanni Fattori and Paris Pascucci, the Uccellina are still one of the sites without no doubt the most fascinating and suggestive, with the impressive Roman ruins of the Benedictine Abbey of Santa Maria Alborense (now St. Rabano), including, according to legend, would still be substantial hidden treasures protected by ghosts and strange spells. As noted by someone, Grosseto, still, you look out your window and watch at noon, see you there, close by, "those blue mountains, surrounded by the aura of prestige and 'poetic charm. And even today, despite an ever-expanding development and pervasive but not always synonymous with progress, Alberese remains, however, one of the entrance gate to this real world more, to a large extent still intact and undamaged, and protected as a priceless landscape, environmental and historical from the Regional Park of Maremma. This part of the Maremma was already singer and at the same time, nostalgic fan Eugenio Niccolini, fascinated visitor, towards the end of the 800 to these shores then still more savage: the land of wandering hunters and poachers, bandits and stray companions desperate for business. A world of forests and swamps, and thickets of ditches, plains and mountains to the sea. Good places for hunting. For all hunts: wild boar and coots, and snipe the Germans, foxes and deer. And in all climates with hail and frost, with the north-east wind and showers, sun and humidity Spaccapietra marsh. Who was Eugenio Niccolini? Born in Florence in 1853 and died in 1939 and Marquess of Camugliano Ponsacco and at the end of the nineteenth century, he held various senior positions: the Provincial Council and was mayor of Prato in 1913 and was appointed senator of the Kingdom of Italy. In 1879 Eugenio Niccolini had married the last descendant of the family Naldini, which brought him, along with many goods, including the building of the Piazza del Duomo in Florence. He is also remembered for his passionate hunter and spent most of his life in the estates of the Fort Rocchette near Castiglione della Pescaia, where he met people such as dark Tiburzi and Fioravanti, but also great artists such as Carducci and D'Annunzio, and Fabbroni Paolieri, Fucini, Ugolini and Eugenio Cecconi. The latter had the opportunity to embellish, with reproductions of his works, the first edition of volume day of hunting, first published in 1915 and reprinted several times until 1990, without a doubt one of the most beautiful books in the subject of hunting ever published in our country and where, even today, we relive the Niccolini hunting actions full of emotions, locations (from the Circeo Capalbio Uccellina all'Alberese), characters and haunting suggestion of the landscapes described.
was Carducci, as the author tells us, who suggested the first idea and to encourage him to first put in writing his memoirs hunting and D'Annunzio and praised his writing and offered to write the preface, urged him to tell these wonderful stories that otherwise we would never have known: Stories of men and animals, always written with a dry style, but meager and mundane. And 1993, however, his unpublished collection entitled Other days of hunting. All'Alberese, in Poggio's Vacchereccia, Niccolini rented a small house, the starting point of his hunting forays. Recently, the fine volume edited by Felicita Scapini and Mariella Nardi, published in 2007 by the publisher under the title The Park Pacini Of Maremma and its territory, Eugenio Niccolini and his book, he returned to look after Nicola Baccetti, in his short essay, entitled The mountains and marshes of dell'Uccellina Alberese pages Eugenio Niccolini: more than a sketch of the late nineteenth century. Through the literary prose of Niccolini, the lives of Maremma Alberese lost forever: In early February 81 ... we were chasing all'Alberese ... In those days the Via Aurelia to the Farm Swimming Statue, which is now the railway station , through a magnificent forest of oaks which on one side joined to dell'Uccellina thickets, of the other surrounding the marsh, and woods thick with elm trees and thorn, stretched to the thickets of Montiano. It was said that a man could go to the Farm Swimming Statue like a squirrel going from branch to branch without ever touching the ground. As the record Baccetti, the marsh dell'Alberese, it leaves none of which has never been so well described in their environmental characteristics and wildlife, with its Paglieta swampy valleys and narrow under the oaks and cork trees of Dark Pool , woodcock and ducks in long lines, tufted ducks and coots, the holm oaks and cork trees. Maremma, then tame the hunter Niccolini makes you feel all the charm: The deep valley of Castelmarino, the Pinewood to the sea, the caves in the cliff black illuminated by the moon, in that silence, in solitude was so beautiful and solemn spectacle that gave me pleasure that I can not say I felt at that moment as the proximity of a companion would upset the charm. At the same time, the nostalgia of these places sacred to him becomes a lament for their incipient outrage. In our old Maremma, a little more remains than they painted the Cecconi or how much as a legend of ancient times, they tell us that we survived. To attend his end had come from everywhere, but it sottrattasi the eyes of the profane exhaled soul without even noticing the present. The old elms left bend their arms wrapped in clematis and sloping to touch the marshy meadows in the valleys, the oaks, the cork oak covered the shadow of their majestic hills, the highest mountains were still covered by thickets blacks, when life Maremma was already gone. The soul was gone when the body while still sloping vegetated. I remember, as if I had before my eyes, the arrival of the first herds in the Maremma, in October still deserted, and wild boar that startled shepherds abandoned their plans, where they had been quietly throughout the summer, to take refuge in the thickets .
Yet, despite everything, and even more so by the city for the visitor who is found to visit these places cleaned up and now increasingly valued by the agricultural point of view and tourism, it still remains entranced by the beauty of the landscape and you can still run the risk of being infected with the pleasantly strange disease that is known as the Maremma Mal ...!

"What does not regenerate, it degenerates" (Edgar Morin) Sonnet

An old letter, published in L'Unità, 15 July 1992 under the title "Eleven Berlinguer years ago spoke of the crisis of political parties. " I'm past seventeen other ...!

"The parties are no longer policy. Have degenerated and that is the source of the ills of Italy ... The parties of today are mainly machinery and power score: poor or mystified knowledge of life and the problems of society, people, ideas, ideals, programs, or a few vague , feelings and passion civil zero. Operating interest, the most diverse, the most contradictory, sometimes even sinister, however, no relation to the emerging needs and human needs, or distort them, without seeking the common good. Their organizational structure was now aligned on this model are no longer the organizers of the people, formations that promote the maturation of civil initiative: federations are quite current, cliques, each with a "boss" and "sub-boss." The parties have occupied the state and all its institutions ... In short, everything is already divided up and score or you would like to carve up and share. And the result is dramatic ... "
are the words of Enrico Berlinguer, taken from historical un'ormai interview with Eugene Scalar 28 July 1981. With extraordinary foresight, more than 10 years ago, Berlinguer outlined the main features of the Italian crisis: the degeneration of parties, employment and division of the State, the moral question as the first national issue. Today, after eleven years, the Italian crisis, political, institutional and moral, is even more dramatic and serious and threatens to undermine the very foundations of democracy in our country. Because those words fell on deaf ears Berlinguer? Because even the PCI - PDS became grasp with his hands in the cookie jar, as shown in Milan the scandalous story of Tangentopoli? If you do not respond quickly to such questions, if not dealing with a deep critical reflection and self-criticism over the last decade, if not we understand that the "reconstruction of public morality is now" - as written by Stephen Rodotà fine book in the preface to Barbacetto and Veltri, Milan scandals, Laterza - "the richest of the largest political programs and reforms, the fate of the PDS will be seriously compromised.

the Maremma

the Maremma Codest dedicate my sonnet.
These spaces are open, still deserted.
At this spell that confuses my heart in my chest.
These sweet and wild landscapes, endless.

In these mountains, these hills, fields and sea,
these twisted olive trees, green and silver,
these logs abandoned in the sunlight,
this wind, the moon, the firmament.

Maremma, you're beautiful and sweet, rough and steep,
away from you I could never stay,
thrown me in your arms now Sorte.

Maremma, land of swamps were bloody and bitter
Queen of malaria by the smell of death,
six hours, one of the last pearls among the most expensive to me.

My brief political experience and his father

history in a letter and two documents

Letter to Unit
Dear Editor,
my cultural background and ethical-political and moral education and my sentimental date from the early seventies - years is certainly not easy and not easy, often violent, confused, messy and often dominated by ideological categories, dogmatic and populist but, nevertheless, rich years of genuine moral and intellectual power and remarkable cultural ferment.
Gramsci, Lukacs, De Sanctis, Antonio Labriola, Croce, but also Sartre, Freud, Nietzsche, Fromm were among the authors who have shaped my ideal library, directing and guiding my training, in light of some ideals and ethical values political importance: freedom, justice and democracy. In all those years, along with a strong and youthful protester charged for the renewal of society, has prompted me to get close to the PCI. I have been writing to
FGCI Naples in 1974 but I have not renewed their membership card when After the dramatic events of Allende in Chile, the party made the proposal of the historic compromise advanced in the pages of Rebirth, by Enrico Berlinguer (of which I only later appreciated, admired and sadly regret the noble, honest and austere figure of great leader). I have not shared the actual management of the proposed policy, because - while I understand the reasons and while recognizing the role it played for the holding of democratic civil and social fabric of the country in the terrible years of terrorism - I was convinced that it helped to stop the process of constructing an alternative social and political credibility, opening, then space, as was the case, the initiative Craxi's autonomist and subsequent restoration.
still communist but as a fellow traveler until 1976 and engaged in various student collectives and movements of the extra-parliamentary left, I took part - albeit on a very critical position and always peaceful and not violent - the movement of 1977, struck down by ' outbreak of guerrilla warfare and terrorism Autonomous Brigades, culminating in the barbaric murder of Aldo Moro. These events, in my opinion, have effectively blocked the growth in Italy and electoral politics of the left shattered my hopes and my (and that of many other friends and companions) political developments, launching a deep reflection and self-criticism suffered ideological revision, which resulted in the years 1979 and 1980, in my adherence to the rebirth of a liberal political force of socialism, although I still feel connected to social background, political culture, and why not, even emotionally, to the PCI.
I lived with some trauma of this inner division, participating with some friends, the so-called renaissance of neo-liberal political thought (still the Cross, more and Popper Dahrendorf), landing, though never quite fully in the orbit of ' area liberal - socialist (the lib-lab of the years '79-'80, in fact).
and Disappointed, to say the truth, even a bit 'disgusted by snobbery, by classism, the lack of true thickness ideal, moral, and political and politicaccia small vessels, and carrieristica patronage of the greatest political and cultural part of that environment, I finally moved away from active politics, shut themselves increasingly involved in private and making me, my although, in the ebb and flow is rampant. In the meantime, I graduated in Philosophy, I passed an open competition for teaching posts for teaching in Milan, first in middle school and then in high school, and I immigrated to the North.
I lived, trying to salvage my experience of ethical-political and cultural, the '80s, certainly less violent and more prodigal of wealth, but surely even more empty and ephemeral decade of the previous year - would have said isolini - development without progress. I experienced such cold mast and I witnessed the unleashing of the various yuppismi, rampant and businesses, shattering the spectacle of politics, the triumph of having over being, the spread of social breakdown, and individual self-interests of the various forms of racism, growth of vulgarity in an Italy increasingly affluent and modern (for luck), but also more cynical, chloroformed and lobotomized (purtroppo!).
I started to vote for the PCI, after many years, thanks to the new liberal course of Achilles Occhetto: it seemed a new glimmer of renewed political initiative in the climate of increasingly stagnant and drugged asphyxiated ethical, political and cultural life of the country, in a situation where - in the face of tragic events in China's Tiananmen Square and, later, even those most dramatic and extraordinary of the East - the PCI, which has always appeared to me in spite of everything as one of the true great powers of renewal and progress of Italian society, began to run the risk of being seriously neglected. And I decided to return to register for the PCI, even after a long and troubled reflection, thanks to the proposal made by the Secretary for the opening of a constituent phase of a new political formation of the left, in the light of the momentous events in Eastern Europe, really knew back renewed voice to the aspirations of freedom, justice and democracy, for real, non-violent transformation of society. An education policy that I hope will inspire the best prepared (without transformations, superficial syncretism) the critical tradition of Western political thought and action, without Eurocentrism, towards a truly democratic society, liberating, progressive and non-authoritarian, liberal and socialist but a liberal socialism and authoritative, true and authentic, non-elitist, but popular, culturally strict and ethically inspired, sensitive to new issues increasingly cross interplanetary and citizenship rights, environmentally sustainable economic development and civil (not merely the quantity) of a democratic government, the economy tends to reduce the gap between the North and increasingly alarming South.
Social justice, democracy and freedom ideals certainly not new but old, to be combined effectively with the legs of the new party. Is this the right time? This is certainly a demanding challenge that will require a huge effort of analysis, reflection and policy proposals, new and original philosophical synthesis, capacity is not indifferent to renewed theoretical work, concrete also new political and organizational tools. But I agree that it is the right way, the only possible one.
send you, at the conclusion of this sort of confession, the speech I made to the Extraordinary Congress of the "Antonio Gramsci" in Monza, with whom I joined 26 January 1990.
I want to read some lines and make a few brief thoughts. Eric Hobsbawm, the Marxist historian of the most influential British left, presently enrolled in the small and irrelevant British Communist Party, issued in a recent interview with La Repubblica, the following statements: "I still call myself a communist precise biographical reasons. Are age 14 years and do not see why I should be ashamed right now to seventy years. First, I found among the western communist extraordinary people, only for moral integrity and dedication to a political idea which has dedicated his whole life without having any material benefit in return. Is it not so in Italy, where the most honest political party that is communist?
Secondly, they should not forget the great role played by this movement to promote growth and education of workers and peasants who have found it in a real school of emancipation.
Third, and most importantly, if we now live in liberal democratic societies and authoritarian, it must be much as did the communists to overthrow fascism.
That said, a great tragedy it is consumed.
And that Communism no longer exists, was defeated.
must therefore find other ways of integration of the left. To this can be defined as common sense to me, certainly not for a young man of twenty years. "
Here, one of the reasons - thanks to the new course and at the turn of Occhetto - led me to vote in the last election PCI, after several years in which I voted Green Party and radical, it was just that. Restore meaning and value to those ideals of justice, freedom, democracy and solidarity, beyond the name, have made this strong and credible political party, from Gramsci to Berlinguer. And return to these values and this historical real possibility of having a future.
must not allow this to be deleted from the memory and conscience of the younger generation who have not lived the story and can not now be recognized more in the name of communism. If you want the ideals and struggles continue to live you need to find a new way, form a new party, even a new name.
This, I think, is the strong political intuition behind the proposal made by a constituent Occhetto for a new political formation of the Italian left. Not the dissolution of the PCI, nor the confluence of the PSI, not the existing approval, the model of political spectacle, the party politics, the overwhelming power of the lodges and customers mafia, manipulation of consciences and the concentration of information. The problem is to reconstruct a renewed political force that is new not only in name.
I understand and I also share the concerns, anxieties, fears, doubts, the bitterness of so many comrades. I am reminded in this regard and for falling into the rhetoric of sentiment, a famous line jew-American actor and director Woody Allen, which could be paraphrased as follows: God is dead, even Lenin, the PCI is dying and I do not I feel very good!
But this is no time for sentimentality understandable but ineffective. It is no longer time for disputes nominalist. It must be time for change, a passion for real reform of the civil. And new thinking, analysis, criticism and policy proposals. While it is convenient to power a Communist Party more and more feeble and weak, then I prefer to continue to struggle with the same moral urgency was of the Italian Communists, although in new forms and with a different name, not processed or failure ethical and political. Because the history and politics, real and authentic, go far beyond the common name, if it is true that Gramsci wrote, and that is that they relate to men, as many men as possible, all people of the world as we join together in society and work and strive and improve themselves. "

Who would have imagined being put into the readings of Gramsci Foundation for this letter published in "Reborn," October 22, 1988?!

Dear Editor, in the miscellaneous volume
"Antonio Gramsci. His ideas in our time, the Publishing Unit, 1987 - published on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of Gramsci - I read, among others, with great interest, the contribution of G. Flowers, titled "The Nino's emotional universe." He, in particular, struck a statement of flowers, also author of a wonderful biography of Gramsci, Gramsci on the relationship between himself and his father. He writes, in fact, Joseph Flowers: "I have often thought back to this father figure removed from Gramsci. There is no trace of a letter addressed to him. And in the vastness of Gramsci's writings, yet so full of autobiographical references, the father has never once called for any reason. A cancellation radical. Why?
Yet, the same volume, a letter is published, with a precise reference to the father, written by Gramsci in 1933 to sister Tania (and she never came, because blocked by the censorship of prison Turi). It is a little-known letter, discovered only in 1965, among other documents, in the State. In it, very touching and dramatic tones, Gramsci speaks of his "disaster" and natural, recalling her childhood fall note, refers explicitly to his father's name, wrote: "In 1911 at Oristano in my uncle's house I met Dr. Cominacini I had treated then (a child) and had tried to prevent the consequences of the disaster. I'm sorry to touch this, but so my uncle told me that the Cominacini with enough confidence (or brutality that is) that the cause of my misfortunes was the neglect and apathy of my father and treated in time I could be saved. "
Gramsci, in 1911, was twenty. Is it not possible, then, suppose - while not ignoring other legitimate interpretations recorded by G. Flowers - that the removal of the father was, for Gramsci, also motivated by resentment, humanly understandable, as against the father's responsibility for his unfortunate physical condition? It is a small, reliable, inter alia, that may be insignificant, however, could further highlight the extraordinary drama of the human story of Gramsci, whose noble of moral, intellectual and political - hopefully - can still be an example for the younger ones still alive and present. ... character, strength and courage in their ideals.

would be ironic that in Italy to question the abandonment of thinking is so exciting as that of Gramsci, which arouses so much interest in the world.

(Published in L'Unità, 26 September 1990 in the book Letters and Reviews)

Dear Editor, I read
(Unit 4 September 1990) the report of the debate held in Modena on "Gramsci in the political culture Italian "and subsequent short, but relevant, Renato Zang September 6. I do not mean the merits of the dispute, perhaps as much long-standing idle, about "the greater or lesser Gramsci's Marxism or Leninism", but I can not help but agree with the observations made by Zang: "The positions of Gramsci went beyond Lenin, and its historical role much beyond that to which we sometimes restricted translator of Leninism in Italy. "
Yet, what seems to me this is amazing and paradoxical: a figure with lines so original, deeply personal and national such as Gramsci might have been reduced, restricted or reduced in size - Norberto Bobbio has also seen - in the role of translator or "follower rather than a genuine thinker."
Equally paradoxical, though for different reasons, playing the love - and, I hope, too pessimistic - considerations Giuseppe Fiori, who complains of a certain indifference of Italian culture, the PCI and its cultural apparatus, against Gramsci. It would, indeed, strange that Gramsci's work as a historian and critic of contemporary society was designed in Italy to their removal, when in fact - as stated in the Flower - it continues today to collect continuing interest and, indeed, growing attention abroad.
This, moreover, has been widely documented in the recent international conference held in Formia between 25 and 27 October 1989 on the initiative of the Gramsci Institute, in which it was submitted several reports on the work of Gramsci fortune not only in major European countries and the United States, but also in many European Countries, like China, Japan and the Arab world. The same Norberto Bobbio - in a speech to the small of Deputies in Rome on the 50th anniversary of Gramsci's death, then re-released along with his other writings Gramsci in his remarkable new book and "Essays on Gramsci", Feltrinelli, 1990 - stressed the growing vitality of Gramscian thought in countries other than Italy and textually noted: "I happened to say at the end of a conference on Italian philosophy of recent decades, we imported everything and we were not able to export anything. Nothing except Gramsci, on which the English literature, French, German and U.S. is vast, dare I say bigger than on the Cross. "
would be really ironic, therefore, and this is really the province, giving up just yet in Italy to question the texts of Gramsci and give a thought to question in many ways still so stimulating hormone (a classic by now). This would preclude us not only knowledge of "a rare monument of human and literary and cultural experience and policy essential to the understanding of our recent past, but also give up the study of the only interpretation might really critical, original and contemporary anti-dogmatic Marxist historicism as ever. And give, also, to a "rare example of consistency between thought and action, between ideas and professed political commitment."
He would probably still need their own examples of such intellectual Italy in recent times? Italy, namely, the controversy instrumental and historical low profile against the Risorgimento and the Resistance?

Letter on The Return of the osprey in the Maremma Park

Alberese at the foot of Uccellina and a few dozen yards from the Maremma Regional Park, was held on the evening of August 4, 2009, a real, small but significant event. In the first summer festival of cinema in Piazza all'Alberese, organized by Pro Loco Alborensis, entitled "Among the pines and plane trees, under the moon and the stars" and the presence of an audience very large and very attentive and concerned, were shown two video documentaries on the Project "The Return of the Osprey in the Park of Maremma. Currently in its fourth year of operation of business, but started back in 2002, through international cooperation between experts of the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse - Parcu of Corsica, one of the strongholds of this fragile species in the Mediterranean, and the Regional Park of Maremma, in the figures of its president, Giampiero Sammuri of Scientific Director, Andrea Efforts and Agents Supervisory Board, the Project continues its slow and patient way with success. The basic objective, certainly one of the most significant and innovative in the world of protected areas in Italy, is to restore a breeding population of ospreys in the Maremma Park and numerous wetlands of Tuscany. The return of this fragile species will lead to extinction in Italy because of the change and habitat destruction, the use of pesticides and water pollution, the levy for commercial purposes or the egg collection, poaching and its direct persecution in the 50's and 60's In fact, of fundamental importance for the recovery of the food pyramid complex of aquatic ecosystems, of which the Osprey is the pinnacle. The area selected for the release of some young specimens taken from Corsica, on the basis of appropriate criteria for environmental soundness and security of the territory, is the mouth of the river and marsh Ombrone trap, a system characterized by shallow water and wet rich fish. In the two videos - with images of rare and charming beauty of wild and rugged cliffs of the Réserve Naturelle de Scandola and cliffs of the Park of Maremma, at Talamone - were shown the various stages of the project and described the biology of this beautiful and fascinating predator of large migratory bird of prey that has developed unique morphological adaptations for catching fish, its only prey, caught by diving spectacular with its strong hooked claws, amid numerous sprays and vigorous beating of wings. At present
and liven up the evening, attended in person the President of the Regional Park of Maremma and Giampiero Federparchi Sammuri - with a brief speech in the screening of a video the other - the film director Federico Santini, researchers Roman Flavio Monti, the drafter of a specific thesis about osprey and made responsible for monitoring and observation of the field of osprey chicks , Gianfranco Martini was the rangers, assisted by Giuseppe Anselmi, and author of the second video shown himself in the evening. The audience really appreciated the initiative, convinced with applause at the end of each screening and participating in final debate with a few quick questions and requests for further explanation. The Pro Loco Alborensis, pleased to have hosted with great success, just Alberese - heart and gateway Park of Maremma - the event, it is increasingly convinced of the importance and need for better awareness and disseminating to the public the research activities and projects of the Park. In fact, only a more conscious and active involvement of residents and tourists can contribute to the maintenance of a territory that, for the quality of its rocky coastline and its precious wetlands, we hope to return again to host the permanent breeding site of Balbuzard Pêcheur or Pandone haliaetus (this is the scientific name of the osprey), its evolution in flight and its dramatic plunge into the water.

Poems about and for peace

For a competition for unpublished poems on the Pro Loco of peace Cologno Monzese
(September 2005)

Peace

Peace is the power of nonviolence, good will
, armed
of burning patience.
Love of Justice,
hates arrogance, peace is not

cowardly acquiescence.
is not cowardice, sloth or indifference
:
Peace
is alert and active presence.
not mute and helpless resignation
:
has the tenacity and temperament
fighter.
Peace
rejects terror and war is the home of all

throughout the world.

Cologno, September 6, 2005

Pacifists

Yes, we are, pacifists,
we are the beautiful souls, manufacturers
patients
heads and hearts, brothers and sisters.
do not like war, nor peace
hypocritical and cowardly.
Terrorism is repugnant to us, we
eyes of starlight.
Yes, yes, we are the dreamers
pessimistic with the mind, but
optimistic hearts.
Yes, yes, we are naive and deluded:
but we're not dead souls,
we are not colluding.

February 15, 2003

Roma, Piazza San Giovanni,
February 15:
the heart of Italy is not warmongering.
Thousands of faces and bodies of people
have said no to war,
not in their name.
Thousands of eyes, feet and hands
gave voice to peace,
hope for tomorrow. A sea of multicolored flags

under a sky painted blue:
as incest, war,
one day become taboo!
